• About us

The youth drop in centre is open on Friday evenings between 7 and 9pm, to youths aged between 11 and 19 and is run by a team of volunteers, held in the Eversley Park Centre.

In 2006 Eversley Park Centre committee came up with the idea of having a youth drop in centre after youths started hanging around the centre, particularly on Friday evenings.

A meeting was set up between the committee, Selby district council, the police, north yorkshire youth services and some young people. It was agreed a 6 week pilot project could commence on a Friday evening. This was to be funded by the parish council.

The pilot project worked so well that it was agreed that it could continue. Work started to source further funding and north yorkshire youth services agreed to supply a youth worker.

The police have confirmed that as a result of having the youth drop in centre on a Friday night, it has helped to reduce anti-social behaviour by giving young people other activities to do and somewhere to go.

Funding has come from a number of local organisations including; Sherburn Parish Council, Selby District council, North Yorkshire youth services, Sherburn and villages CIP group and the Sherburn pride project.
